LIVALL is a known manufacturer of smart accessories for sports, having more than a hundred patents filed in various countries and several software copyrights. One of their well-known products is the LIVALL MT1 smart cycling mountain Bluetooth helmet.
This helmet is sleek & light and looks much like ordinary helmets, except it can play your music and send SOS signals to your mom in case of collision.
In this article, we review this much-hyped product from LIVALL and see if it does give justice to its reputation. We take a close look at its specs and see if it is at all worth the price. Feel free to scroll down to go over our brief review.
Product Review of LIVALL MT1 Smart Cycling Mountain Bluetooth Helmet
As mentioned, the LIVALL MT1 smart helmet looks highly identical to an ordinary helmet. It is a half-helmet that comes in black, black/grey, and black/red.
On the back of the helmet, you will notice eight full-color LED tail lights and turn indicators. We think this is a great design because in the dark or in inclement weather, it can be hard to tell where a person is even when their vehicle has lights. With the tail lights on the LIVALL MT1 helmet, drivers behind you can easily see where you head is and can well estimate how they should avoid you if needed.
The LIVALL MT1 helmet has a Bluetooth speaker, which you can use for your jam or for making and taking phone calls while cycling.
There is a LIVALL riding app, which you can install on your phone. Connect the LIVALL MT1 with it to maximize its features. These include sending of SOS alerts to emergency contacts in the event of impact and turning on of emergency signals on the helmet.
On the handlebar, you can find a remote control called the Smart Bling Jet Controller. It does have a design patent certificate and is quite easy to use. This is what you use to take photos, answer calls, use the walkie-talkie functionality, control turn signals, and play music. Match it with your helmet to get started.
Regarding the walkie-talkie function, we think this is a neat feature because it is essential especially when cycling in the mountains. According to the manufacturer, this feature is unlimited in terms of language and distance, which should help enhance safety substantially.
The total run time of the LIVALL MT1 Bluetooth helmet is up to 12 hours, according to the manufacturer.we think that is an impressive number and should be long enough for average cycling trips.
All in all, we think that the combination of these features dramatically increase road visibility and thus safety. The added functionalities like calls, SOS, and photos provide a lot of convenience. They increase safety too, given that you do not have to be entangled in cables while cycling.
Specs and Features of LIVALL MT1 Smart Helmet
a. Design and Material Quality (4/5)
We are still all for full-face helmets, but we guess the LIVALL MT1 helmet just has a different target rider. Nevertheless, we think it does look sleek. It also is not bulky despite the number of things it does. For something that does so much, we expected something a little bigger and probably riddled with wires or cables in a hidden spot.
b. Versatility (5/5)
We think that versatility is one of the strengths of the LIVALL MT1 Smart helmet. It may have been inevitable. With the rapid technological advancement we are seeing, it was only a matter of time before we saw a helmet that is as smart as the head it is covering! To review, this helmet can help you with lights, turn signals, taking photos, answering calls, and more.
c. Quality/ Performance (5/5)
Nowadays, we have come to expect more from helmets than merely protecting our heads from injuries caused by impact. In our opinion, the LIVALL MT1 helmet is a good example of a helmet that promises to do a lot and does all of it well. It doubles as a signaling tool or warning device, an emergency contact point, and a camera, just to name a few.
d. Battery Operation (5/5)
The LIVALL MT1 smart cycling helmet consumes 3 hours to charge completely. The battery should last up to 6 hours when lighting and music are turned on. The total maximum duration is 180 days, according to the manufacturer. We think these should be sufficient for the average needs of a cyclist. The charging time is not bad either. At this price point, some smart helmets take much longer to charge.
e. Add-ons (5/5)
The LIVALL MT1 helmet comes with the Bling Jet Controller, which goes on your bicycle’s handlebar. This controller is mainly responsible for flashing the turn signals on the back of your helmet, taking calls and photos, playing music, and performing the walkie-talkie feature.
f. Price (5/5)
We think the LIVALL MT1 smart helmet is just appropriately priced. In fact, it may even be much like a bargain. Many helmets at this price point do not have the features you can find in this helmet by LIVALL. Hence, we give it a 5 out of 5.
From the abovementioned features, it seems that the LIVALL MT1 is quite a good cycling helmet. It is designed to protect you from injuries and prevent accidents completely. Plus, it comes with some decent features that improve convenience.
Is It Worth Buying?
In our opinion, the LIVALL MT1 smart cycling mountain Bluetooth helmet is very much worth the money. As mentioned earlier, it protects and prevents while bringing a set of neat features to the table at the same time. There are two alternative options are the Coros LINX or Lumos smart bike helmet.
