Stay on track with shaving using this device. It incorporates a premium sonic technology that gives an extra power generating about 10,000 micro-vibrations per minute. It’s a flexible shaving system that contours well to different skin surfaces and texture. It addresses skin irritation and promotes capture of hair even small ones measuring about 0.05 mm. Additionally, it includes an 8-directional shaving system that allows wide angled shaving even to those sensitive areas like the neck, jawline, and under the nose. It includes also a pop-up trimmer to aid on mustaches and small areas as needed.

This one-pound linear razor is durably built with a contemporary look to cater patronage from numerous customers. The overall body is silver-finished with rubber inserts streamlined at the sides of the device to ensure a hard and well-established grip. The device is mostly made from glossy plastic with an interface including a power button, LED indicator light for battery and hygiene levels, and two-side buttons for adjustments on shaving power.

The intuitive shaver head is highly engineered consisting of 4 cutting elements, namely, ActiveLift, Trimmer Protective, Skin Guard, and Optifoil for a precise and smooth shaving. This small razor is also designed for easy cleaning, utilization, and replacement.

Its Li-ion battery runs for a maximum of 50-minute operation. It is rechargeable with a detachable AC adapter with 100-240 volts that fully loads about an hour of charging.

Aside from the razor, the package includes a travel case, small cleaning brush, a user manual and a charger.

Specs and Features of Series 7 7893s Shaver

a. Durable Body and Intuitive Design
This overall body of the razor is mainly made from glossy plastic finished with silver matte. Its sides include rubber inserts for easy grip. Its rear is tinted with black to add the sophistication. Generally, the device is a bit bulky but extremely lightweight. Its main interface incorporates a pop-up easy flip trimmer, a power button, LED indicator light for hygiene and battery level detection, and two side elliptical buttons for personal adjustments on the shaving power.

b. Flexible Shaving Operation
This razor could be utilized for dry or wet shaving. This is conducive using water, foam, or gel in shaving. Nonetheless, it includes 5-personalized adjustable modes sensitive to turbo that could be easily regulated by pressing the buttons.

c. Battery Power and Charging
For battery status, you could easily look at the LED indicator located at the base of the shaver. Nonetheless, the Li-ion battery runs a maximum of 50 minutes as needed. The 110-240 volt AC charger that is included in the package fully loads about an hour of charging. Nonetheless, it should be remembered that the shaver should not be used during charging.

d. Shaving Technology
This impressive shaver adds power to its sonic based technology. This technology allows the shaver to cut through long beards and hairs smoothly as needed. It has a flexible multi-directional shaver head that is highly efficient for utilization even to those sensitive areas such as the neck, jawline, and even under the nose. Additionally, its shaving head has 4-cutting elements to ensure a deep and non-irritated shaving experience.

e. Cleaning and Maintenance
Since the body of the device is mainly waterproof upon submerging up to 5-meter water depth, there is an assurance that cleaning will be easy and safe as needed. You could do it manually since some of its parts are readily detachable. However, you could also buy a separate cleaning and charging station for easy and single touch cleaning.

Performance:

A good performing shaver coming from Braun. Generally, the design and body of the razor resemble a typical Braun shaver. The device is silver finished mostly plastic streamlined with rubber inserts on its sides. Likewise, it has a similar interface that most Braun 7 and updated series has. It has a power button, LED indicator for battery level detection, and two side buttons for personalized adjustments into 5-stimulating modes on shaving power.

It does give a close and in-depth shaving experience. With the help of the wide angled shaver head and the 4 cutting elements that it is incorporated, there is no doubt that shaving using this device will go beyond to sensitive areas like the neck and jawline. Though there are few users who have issues with irritations and patches, make sure to adjust the modes or check on with the shaving cream or gel that you are using. It could be the cause of the problem.

Other than that, the battery and charging unit seems fine. It has similar capabilities as to the other shavers that Braun has. The battery runs for a maximum of 50 minutes and charging lasts for about an hour. Though, never use the device upon charging. It could be dangerous and could cause damage to the battery of the device.

Another thing is that the shaver is prettily expensive. Its replacement parts along with the shaver head, cartridges for cleaning station, and the cleaning and charging station itself is quite costly. Nonetheless, this is not just a problem with this model but to most Braun’s latest products.

Pros
  • Wet/Dry shaving
  • Good for sensitive skins
  • Multi-directional operation
  • Robust design and body
  • Battery and charging efficiency
  • User-friendly interface
Cons
  • Expensive parts for replacement

Braun is a German-based shaver manufacturer that has been known for decades on delivering great service to its customers. Likewise, these two products being compared are both coming from the same brand and range of products but a different model number.

Nonetheless, you’ll notice a lot of similarities from the device. Though both have a different color, the two Braun shavers have the same design, features, and technology that is incorporated. However, still Braun Series 7 7865cc has few edges including add-ons. The latter does not have an included Cleaning and Charging station in its package while for Braun’s 7 7865cc has it. Though, some may not take this as an advantage since some prefer cleaning it manually to save more money.

With the additional add-ons, it’s expected that Braun’s 7 7865cc will be more expensive as the latter.

p.s: There is an other higher version of Series 7 is Braun Series 9. Check it out what are the differences between Braun Series 7 vs. Series 9?

I have been using a Panasonic ES8103 shaver for the past five years and have been satisfied with the shaves in spite of the fact that I never changed the screen or the cutter. The battery was no longer holding a full charge therefore I was planning to purchase another one. However, while shopping at Costco I came across the Braun 7893s shaver and I picked it up for $100. I had used AC corded Braun shavers for years in the past and always had good shaving results. I charged up the shaver and was very impressed at how close it shaved without any irritation. The 7893s is quieter than the Panasonic but a little more bulky to hold. The Braun 7893s, along with every electric shaver I have ever owned, requires going over each area of my face more than once and in different directions to get a really close shave. This shaver has three power settings designed to reduce irritation for the more sensitive parts of your face. Adjusting the accelerator buttons to one of three settings supposedly reduces the shaver’s speed. I adjusted the accelerator power setting buttons to the “aggressive” green setting which gives me a very close and fast shave. A couple of times during the past couple of weeks I selected the lower power setting blue or light blue and I couldn’t tell any appreciable difference in the shaver’s sound or a difference in the resulting comfort level on any part of my face. Maybe this feature works for some people but for me it just changed the color on the on/off button.

The Panasonic shaver had an LCD screen which indicates the numerical percentage of the battery charge. The Braun 7893s uses colored lights to indicate the charge level of the battery which is less. I have shaved daily since I bought the shaver nearly three weeks ago and the battery charge indicator just went to red yesterday morning. When the red light illuminates, the owner’s manual states that two or three shaves remain until the battery is depleted. It also states that a full charge takes an hour and a five minute charge will supply enough power for one quick shave. The 7893s is designed for wet shaving therefore it can’t be used while connected to the AC power to prevent an electric shock.

The shaver appears well made and sturdy. The seven series shavers are still made in Germany and I hope this shaver will live up to the myth of superior German engineering and craftsmanship. The cutter and the screens are combined into a single cutter/screen cassette which is replaced as one unit rather than as separate parts. One thing Braun cheapened out on was by not providing a plastic guard for the cutter/foil cassette. However, the hard sided, cloth covered, zipper travel case protects the foils when the shaver is in the case.

Every week I cleaned the Panasonic shaver with liquid hand soap and running water. The 7893s is also waterproof and I intended to do the same cleaning routine with it until I noticed shaver clippings coming out of the screen and collecting in the case. After brushing out the case, I decided to go old school and tap out the cuttings from the cutter/screen cassette and brush out the top of the shaver after each which only takes a few seconds. This process keeps both the interior of the travel case and the shaver clean. Either the dry or the wet cleaning method is described in the owner’s manual. Braun provides a warning light to remind you to replace the cutter/screen cassette after 18 months. When it illuminates I will inspect the screens for wear and determine if the quality of the shaves has deteriorated significantly before replacing the cassette. Replacement cassettes are available for $29 from Amazon as well as from other retailers.

The trimmer on the Braun 7893s pops out from the front of the shaver making trimming my mustache a little awkward compared to the rear mounted trimmer on the Panasonic, but it works. The trimmer on the Panasonic shaver died a couple of years ago and hopefully the one on the Braun lasts longer. I never shaved wet either in the shower or at the sink with the Panasonic and I don’t intend to shave wet with the 7893s. Washing and then lathering up your face takes too much time, requires too much effort and defeats the connivence and speed advantages of using an electric shaver. If you shave wet and or clean the shaver with water, Braun recommends you leave the cutter/screen cassette off the shaver to throughly dry it out before shaving again. They also recommend that if you rinse the shaver to occasionally apply a drop of light machine oil on the screen and the trimmer. If shaving dry, Braun recommends to shave before washing your face or showering for best results. Shaving and cleaning the shaver dry doesn’t require applying oil to the screens and trimmer.

Overall, the Braun 7893s is an excellent shaver for the price and I highly recommend it. The battery capacity is incredible as I got 20 shaves when the red charge light illuminated. The 7893s comes with a two year warranty and a 60 day return policy.
