#1. Tile Mate & Slim Combo Pack, Key/Wallet/Item Finder
Design and Material
Tile’s famous tracker devices come in two sizes, one of these is Tile Mate and the other is Tile Slim. These trackers are white-coated and made of plastic. Likewise, these devices are water and splash-proof.
Tile Mate which measures 34 x 34 x 4.65 mm is used as key chains to be hooked into your bags and keys. Conversely, Tile Slim resembles a credit card measuring 54 x 54x 2.4 mm is mainly designated for utilization on pockets, wallets, and purses.
Nonetheless, these small devices are purchased on one combo pack. Each pack contains two of these trackers consecutively.
App and Connectivity
The tracker works either through Bluetooth or an app. The app is highly compatible with Apple iOs and Android devices with Bluetooth 4.0. Its app is very efficient in locating people in a wide-range area through GPS. Additionally, the app allows you to extend your Tile network through sending your loved ones a link. However, this feature is somehow disturbing. It sends a lot of notifications and alerts for which is quite annoying sometimes.
The built-in battery for this small device does not last long enough. Sad to say that you need to buy another tracker once the power has gone out. Approximately, a typical tile tracker lasts for one year.
Basically, once you lost the thing with the tracker, you could easily activate it through the app and alarm it. In relation to that, Tile has 4 different customized ringtones that you could choose. The volume of the sound (Slim: 82 and Mate: 88 dB) produce by the tracker is somehow acceptable, not that loud and too soft either. Nonetheless, the tracker’s alarm could be useful if you are within 30-100 ft. from the tracker.

This tracker works on Apple iOs and Android devices. Its app named Trackr could be downloaded through several app stores. Well, the tracker beeps if you activate the app within at maximum 100 feet from it. Though, this distance is unideal considering there are obstructions. Consequently, its ringer saying ‘hear it is’ is really not quite loud. Some users are totally disappointed by the tracking ability of this product.
Tile vs Trackr – What Tracker Works for Me?
Looking at its price, both trackers have nearly the same price. Nonetheless, the price won’t be an issue on choosing the best tracker among the two. The decision now relies on the quality, reliability, and features of the product.
With its design and build, Tile has absolutely the edge. Though it’s plastic, the device is more flexible and is absolutely waterproof for which TrackR does lacks. Nonetheless, TrackR’s rounded build and design are intuitive as compared to Tile’s plain white credit card-like design which is just plain and drab.
|Tile Mate & Slim|
With the app, fewer users are experiencing problems with Tile as compared to TrackR. Thus, Tile still wins with this. Though there are still complaints with Tile’s app, it is more into notifications and not on location and bug issues. Likewise, Tile’s networking feature is completely useable especially if you’re locating friends and family around the community.
With power duration, clearly, TrackR wins into this. Both have one-year expiration yet the only difference is that TrackR allows a replacement for the battery with minimal cost. However, such action is limited only to within the US area.
With its tracking ability, Tile is much louder than TrackR so it wins. Nevertheless, the two products still are not that loud to be heard by a lot of its users. However, Tile still wins because its coverage is wider than TrackR. Also, it faces fewer connectivity issues than the latter.
Overall, we say that Tile wins 3 over 1. Though at the end of every purchase, it’s still your choice. Both products are great and whatever you chose with the two is totally fine. They share different weaknesses and strengths. It’s up to you on what you feel convenient with.
